Jazz Cruise with the Castro Trio, Aug. 25

The Castro Trio performs music inspired by the influential jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt and the early European jazz tradition. The music takes us back to 1930s Paris, and with clear influences from swing and European folk music, it creates a warm atmosphere where joy and melancholy meet. With virtuosity, playfulness, and strong ensemble playing, the trio interprets the legacy of Django’s music—where acoustic guitars, double bass, and vocals intertwine to create a dynamic and intimate sound.

Music Cruise with the Guys from Eken, Aug. 26

Grabbarna från Eken is a youthful ensemble with a passion for Swedish and Irish folk music. With flutes, accordions, mandolas, and fiddles, they offer an exuberant musical experience. Their repertoire draws from the Swedish folk music tradition, featuring artists such as Olle Adolphson and Cornelis Vreeswijk. This is interspersed with lively folk songs from Ireland, as well as original compositions.

Music Cruise with Choral Singing by Täby Toner, Aug. 27

Täby Toner (TT) is an 8-part secular choir with about 45 singers, led by conductor Jan Risberg. The choir performs a wide variety of music from many different genres, including sacred works, ballads, folk music, and jazz with a big band. Learn more on their websiteat www.tabytoner.se

Folk Music Cruise from Ireland to Bohuslän, Aug. 28

Markus Berntsson and musicians from the Castro Trio treat us to a lively and swinging concert where Irish reels and jigs meet Bohuslän waltzes. With the accordion, mandolin, and guitar, they perform both well-known Irish melodies and traditional songs from the west coast. The music is warm, rhythmic, and easy to enjoy—with melodies that linger and have the audience humming along.
