We take pride in giving as many people as possible the chance to participate in our sailings. Therefore, the crew actively engages with participants, taking the time to demonstrate and instruct, giving everyone who wishes the opportunity to take part in the sailing themselves.
Do you want to sail by yourself or with a group of friends or colleagues? We offer a varied selection of sailings, long and short, for individuals, companies, and organizations. Sailings are added to our booking system as planning is completed.
Sailing the brig Tre Kronor af Stockholm
Our goal is always for those who wish to participate as much as possible in the work of sailing the ship. One of the crew's most important tasks is therefore to assist and instruct you so that you can truly experience what it's like to sail an authentic sailing ship in the same way it was done one hundred and fifty years ago.
Sailings normally begin with a safety briefing and a brief introduction to the principles of sailing a square-rigged vessel. If the winds are favorable, we sail directly from the quay and sometimes even back to the quay. During the setting of sails and maneuvering of the ship, passengers – those who wish – participate in the work on deck under the guidance of the crew. And it's fun! However, all work aloft in the rigging is handled by the crew.
A brig is phenomenally maneuverable with a well-coordinated crew. Under the right conditions, it is possible to perform pure “pirouettes” – but then there are many steps for the crew to keep track of.
