Finland Cruise: Helsinki–Stavsnäs, Oct. 12–14

Welcome aboard the brig Tre Kronor for the very last long-distance sailing adventure of the season, as we sail home from Helsinki and the traditional herring market that marks the end of the season for many of the Baltic Sea’s schooners.

After boarding in Helsinki, we cast off, head out to sea, and set course for home. We sail out among the skerries, watch the beautiful city fade into the distance, and sit back to simply enjoy nature, the company, a good book, or actively participate in the sailing alongside the crew. Soon we reach the open sea, and once out at sea, we continue sailing through the night, allowing anyone who wishes to try their hand at a night watch or be lulled to sleep by the waves.

The next morning, we’ll start with a hearty breakfast as our journey continues. Perhaps someone has been up early to watch the sun rise over the open horizon. We still have many mil ahead of us, either across the open sea or through the beautiful Finnish archipelago. We’re now starting to feel at home on board, have begun to get to know one another, and have settled into the pleasant rhythm of life on a sailing ship underway, where life is simple and unhurried, and the outside world slowly fades away.

Depending on the weather and wind conditions, we’ll find a nice natural harbor to spend the night in, or we’ll continue our journey for one more night and let anyone who wants to try their hand at steering the boat as we sail under the stars. Either way, we’ll spend the evening socializing on board, and it’s with a touch of sadness that we’ll watch the port where we’ll disembark draw near!

Once we arrived in Stavsnäs, we proudly stepped ashore and went our separate ways, knowing that this might not be our last long journey.

We’ll be waiting for you, of course, whether you’re traveling to Helsinki on Viking Line and arriving at 10:10 or on Tallink Silja and arriving at 10:30. DS

About Life On Board

During the days, as a guest, you are warmly welcome to participate in the sailing as much as you wish, or simply lean back and enjoy the experience, the company, and the surroundings, perhaps with a good book and a cup of coffee. Our dedicated crew will help you settle in, tell you about life on board, and allow anyone who wishes to join in sailing the ship.

Together with other guests and the crew, you will form a diverse group, both in age and background. This usually creates a familiar and pleasant atmosphere on board where everyone feels welcome.

Good food is an important part of life at sea, and our skilled chef will serve you all meals, plus coffee and snacks! We dare to promise that you will not be disappointed. Please remember to inform us of any allergies or special dietary requirements when booking!

You will sleep in a regular bed in our comfortable 2- or 4-berth cabins, shared with your fellow sailors. On board, you'll find most of the amenities we are used to: power outlets, toilets, showers, laundry facilities, etc.
