Steamboat Safari on the Archipelago Boat on June 3

Welcome aboard the brig Tre Kronor for a unique evening at sea, where the past meets the future as we sail in a procession alongside Stockholm’s steamboats.

We cast off, hoist the sails, and glide slowly out of the city while enjoying good food, good company, and the beautiful surroundings. Maybe we’ll spot a steamboat or two as well.

Archipelago Boat Day has been held in early June since the 1960s. The classic old steamboats set sail in a procession from Stockholm at 5:30 p.m. and are greeted in Vaxholm by a market, music, and a public festival. We brig sailors aren’t stuck in the past, so this year we planned to sail along as an escort boat for the procession—naturally, at the risk of being overtaken.

Please note: We will not be stopping in Vaxholm with the steamboats; the dock there is full. The cruise is a round trip from Stockholm.

During the evening, you’re more than welcome to join in the sailing, or simply sit back and enjoy the experience. Our dedicated crew will help you get settled, tell you about life on board, and let anyone who wants to help out with steering the ship.
