The association is the shipping company
As a member of the association, you may have read in *Briggenbladet* and in emails that the ship has sailed a “mini-season” this year. Decisions were made quickly, and there was very little time between the announcement that the ship had been saved and would remain in Stockholm and the moment we were up and sailing.
It took a lot of hard work to get the ship seaworthy and ready to sail, recruit a crew, spread the word, and set up a booking system. By the end of July, the ship was certified and ready, and a month-long sailing trip began. We managed to include a number of young people both in the crew and in several projects. In addition, Tre Kronor af Stockholm was once again commissioned as the support vessel for the One Water Race endurance competition for the third year.
All staffing and work involved in getting the boat ready to sail as early as 2024 has been done entirely on a volunteer basis.
Starting in 2024, the association will serve as the shipping company operating the Tre Kronor af Stockholm. The association’s board has established several new working groups, which are currently hard at work on financial matters, partnerships, route planning, and crew scheduling in preparation for the 2025 season.
